You don't need an account to use ActiveMind. What you log (moods, journal, check-ins, your streak) stays on your iPhone, and in your own iCloud if you keep backup on. There are no ads, no analytics and no tracking.
ActiveMind has one small server, and it is only for things between people: sharing a day trip as a link, and a circle of friends. It is used only if you choose to do one of those things, and it never holds your moods, journal, places or Health data.
Your name and goals, mood check-ins, journal entries, activities and trips you finish, your streak, and your settings are stored on your iPhone. If you delete the app, they are removed from the phone.
On unless you turn it off in Settings. Your streak, moods, journal and profile are copied to your own iCloud account, so a new phone starts where you left off. Apple stores it in your account; ActiveMind never sees it.
Only with your permission, which you can change any time in Settings › Health › ActiveMind.
Health data is used only to show you your own readings in the app. It is never sent to ActiveMind's server or to anyone else, and never used for advertising.
Used for weather, nearby places and day trips, only while the app is open. Your coordinates are sent, with nothing else attached, to the services that answer:
Kept on your iPhone: where today's trips were planned from, and the places you finish trips at, which is what draws your Discovery map.
Only needed to share a trip as a link or to have a circle of friends. You sign in with Apple; there is no password. ActiveMind's server, run on Supabase in the United States, then keeps:
Nothing you log goes there. You can delete your account in Settings › Account › Delete my account, which removes it and everything linked to it (trip links, your profile card, your circle and everything you sent friends) from the server. What is on your iPhone stays.
Only when you send one. The day goes to ActiveMind's server as you see it: its stops, times, addresses and map, with your name and emoji. Where you planned it from is left off. Anyone with the link can see that one day, and nothing else of yours, on a web page and in the app, for 30 days or until you stop it in Settings › Account › Trip links. The web page shows the map using OpenStreetMap.
Only if you add friends, up to five, each with an invite link. Your friends see your profile card, a status you set (for a day), your streak, which days you moved in the last 90 (an activity done, a day trip finished, or 5,000 steps), the cheers, notes, plans and postcards you send them, and your answer to the week's question once they have answered too. A postcard carries a finished day trip's name, stops and date, never where you set out from. People in a weekly challenge together see each other's name, emoji and days moved that week. Never your moods, journal, places or Health: the server has nowhere to keep them. Messages are cleared after 60 days, and moved days after 90. Either of you can remove the other at any time, which removes what you sent each other.
Only when you put a day trip in it, or a plan with a friend you said yes to. ActiveMind adds those events, moves them when you swap a stop and removes them when you take the trip out. It keeps a note of which events it made and never reads or changes anything else in your calendar.
Planned on your iPhone, three a day at most: a morning plan, a move nudge only if you haven't moved, and wind-down before bed, plus moments like a trip alert or something new from your circle. Choose which in Settings › Notifications, or turn them all off in iOS Settings. If you answer wind-down with a mood by pressing and holding it, that mood is saved like any other check-in.
Your readiness, sleep, stress, steps and a trip's next stop are copied from the app into a space on your iPhone that only ActiveMind's own widgets, Lock Screen countdown and Siri shortcuts can read. Nothing leaves the phone.
A card you share is drawn on your iPhone and goes only where you send it. Save Image adds it to your photo library when you choose it; ActiveMind never reads your photos.
ActiveMind does not collect analytics or usage data, use advertising frameworks, track you across apps or websites, or sell or share your data. No crash reports are sent.
ActiveMind is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from them. It can be used fully without an account.
